Magma Announces Second Quarter Earnings Call and Webcast

 WHAT:     Magma(r) Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq:LAVA) will conduct a
           live webcast and conference call to review financial results
           for its fiscal 2009 second quarter, ending Nov. 2, 2008.

 WHEN:     The webcast and conference call will be Thursday, Dec. 4,
           2008, at 2 p.m. PST. Magma will release second-quarter
           financial results after the market closes on Dec. 4. NOTE:
           This date is 1 week later than Magma would typically
           announce quarterly results to avoid conflict with the
           Thanksgiving Day holiday in the United States.
